MetLife Insurance Update – Patient FAQ

We want to make this transition as easy as possible for you. Below are answers to some common questions regarding the upcoming MetLife insurance change.

Why is this change happening?

Insurance plans sometimes change the way they reimburse dental offices, and occasionally those changes make it difficult for offices to continue participating while maintaining the level of care and time we believe our patients deserve. Our goal is always to continue providing the highest quality care for our patients.

When does this change take effect?

Dr. Lohner will no longer be an in-network provider with MetLife beginning in June 2026.

Can I still see Dr. Lohner?

Absolutely! You are always welcome to continue seeing Dr. Lohner as an out-of-network provider. Many patients choose to stay with their doctor even when they are out of network. Our team will still submit claims to MetLife on your behalf so you can use your benefits.

Will my insurance still pay if I see Dr. Lohner?

Yes. MetLife typically still provides benefits for out-of-network care, though the amount covered may vary depending on your individual plan.

Is there still an in-network option at the office?

Yes! Dr. Jimmer will remain in-network with MetLife. Patients who choose to see Dr. Jimmer will still enjoy the same friendly team, hygienists, and familiar faces in the office.

Will I have to change hygienists or staff?

No. Patients who schedule with Dr. Jimmer will continue to see the same hygienists and staff they are used to. Our goal is to keep your experience as comfortable and familiar as possible.

What days is Dr. Jimmer available?

Dr. Jimmer is available Monday through Thursday.
