A dental crown in Cedar Hills, Utah, is a strong, reliable product that restores the health of your teeth and improves your smile’s appearance. However, it’s still possible for your dental crown to break, crack, or even fall out of your mouth. If your dental crown has recently been compromised, our Lexington Heights Dental team is happy to help you improve the situation! All you need to do is:

Call your dentist
The most important thing you need to do is call your dentist right away and schedule an appointment. Your dentist is the only one who can completely correct the situation. When you come in for your appointment, please remember to bring the crown with you.

Put the crown back in place
If possible, put the crown in place using over-the-counter dental cement or a piece of sugar-free gum. All you need to do is fill the center of the crown with the cement or gum and then place the crown back over the tooth. Please do not use super glue. If you can’t seem to get the crown back into place, keep it in a safe place where it won’t get lost or broken.

Take over-the-counter pain medications
Sometimes a broken crown can cause pain. If this is the case for you, please feel free to take over-the-counter pain medications as needed. This should give you the comfort you need until you come into our office.

If you need additional help with your broken crown, please remember that you can always call 801-756-2006 during our office hours and talk to your dentist, Dr. John Lohner, or a member of our team. We are here to help you in any way we can, and we look forward to your phone call!
